Position
As part of the product development team in India, the selected candidate will play a key role in projects
involving simulation and modeling of power electronic systems. The selected candidate will work in
close collaboration with the hardware and software product development team, and will contribute in
the areas of power converter modeling, development and tuning of associated control, and integration
of power converters to power system networks.
You will have the opportunity to apply and improve your power electronics and control systems skills,
by working on cutting edge real-time simulation projects. You will also have the opportunity to interact
and work with subject matter experts both within and outside of Exicom.

Job Description:

 Modelling and simulation of power electronic converters and controllers in the areas of AC-DC
converters and DC-DC converters systems. Models will be suitable for real-time simulation using CPU
preferably on TI platform.
 Participate in technical consultancy projects in collaboration with the Exicom design consultants
around the globe. Participation could involve performing validation testing on real time simulation of
power electronic systems, developing control structures, and preparing technical reports.
 Develop and provide advanced training modules which showcase power electronic simulations for
different products.
 Carry out worst case stress analysis and tolerance analysis.
 Develop demonstration models to highlight real-time simulation capabilities in the context of power
electronic systems.
 Aid in development of Microcontrollers & DSP based Embedded Systems
 Perform power electronics and analog/mixed signal electronic functional testing
 Collects and analyse test data to improve/optimize the designs
 Collaborate with power electronics, mechanical, thermal, and firmware engineers to successfully test
and validate the designs
 Work with power electronics design engineers to develop test plans, write test specifications, select
measurement equipment, and build test fixtures
 Work with power electronics design engineers in the analysis, investigation, and resolution of
engineering problems
 Evaluates alternative design solutions to meet product development requirements factoring in
performance, cost and schedule
 Develops appropriate test documentation and make technical presentations
 Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification/Experience
 Essential Qualifications: Master’s or Ph.D in Electrical Engineering
 Desirable Qualifications: M. Tech, PhD – Power Electronics, Embedded Systems
 Years of Experience: A minimum of 5+ years in advanced modeling and simulation of various
power electronics topologies used in AC-DC , DC-DC converters. Good working experience of
various simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink. Experience in coding on DSP
microcontroller, especially on TI platform. Experience in developing control algorithms in
MATLAB/Simulink. Hardware-in-the-loop and real-time simulation experience is a plus.

Required Skill
 Good understanding of power electronic converters and its associated control, power
converter integration into power systems, and simulation and modeling concepts.
 Good working experience and understanding of LTSpice, Matlab, PSIM, ORCAD, pSPICE,
ALTIUM, Multisim, ALEGRO.
 Experience on building Mathematical models for AC-DC , DC-DC converters, Solar Chargers, EV
charger etc
 Control Loop Design SISO tool using Matlab PSB.
 Experience on the designing mathematical model for customised components like inductors,
transformers etc.
 Coding Knowledge required to convert and optimise the code generated using MATLAB.
 Worst case component stress analysis using stress analysis tools.
 Good experience in analysing circuit behaviour using simulation tools.
 DSP Microcontroller programming and experience with fixed-point/Floating point arithmetic for
developing control or mathematical modelling, is an important asset. Knowledge of real-time
simulation tool is added advantage.
 Experience in Power Converter, Inverter, DC-DC converter designing, prototyping and full life
cycle involvement in product development activities.
 Understanding of Control System and Control loop implementation in MATLAB simulation
models. Implementation using Assembly, CLA / C language will be added advantage.
 Should have thorough knowledge in Various Switching Topologies like Fly-back, Forward, Half
Bridge, Full Bridge etc.
